Sawyer Gaunt is a cinematographer based out of New York with over six years of experience working across the country. After studying cinematography at Columbia College in Chicago he found success as a gaffer in the independent film scene in NYC, quickly making his way to shooting at an early age. Commercial work with brands like Levi’s, Starbucks, and Honda has taken him across the country and internationally, but his true passion lies in narrative work. Sawyer has shot over 15 short films across all genres in the last three years. His work has made its way into a variety of festivals and even won several cinematography awards for the short film “Tito”. He continues to further his education with seminars and classes, including an ASC Masterclass with professors such as Linus Sandgren and Jay Holben focusing entirely on shooting on film. Since then Sawyer has shot a handful of projects on 16mm, and 35mm for the first time last spring. Sawyer is currently in pre-production for his first feature film as well as a high profile short starring Michael Gandolfini.
